Summary This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for DHA for Domestic Defense Industrial Base (DIB) Facilities to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: The Anniston Army Depot is located in Anniston, Alabama in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountain chain halfway between Atlanta, GA and Birmingham, AL just off Interstate 20. It is the largest employer in Calhoun County with approximately 4000 employees. Responsibilities Monitor installation access in accordance with Army regulations. Prevent unauthorized access to highly restrictive areas. Exercise specialized operating requirements to detect threats. Assist in the maintenance of law and order when necessary. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes working with a Federal, State, municipal, local, or private protective organization that involved the protection of property against such hazards as fire, theft, damage, accident, or trespass; maintaining order and protecting life; applying protective techniques and use of protective systems. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05). Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One-year probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
