Registered Nurse - PICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized pediatric intensive care to neonatal and pediatric patients in a hospital setting. Deliver direct patient care in accordance with clinical standards, ensuring safety and comfort for all patients up to 25 years old.

Responsibilities:

• Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and therapies including EKG monitoring and inotropes.
• Monitor patient vital signs, assess clinical conditions, and respond promptly to changes.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Document patient care activities accurately and maintain comprehensive medical records.
• Ensure compliance with all licensing, certification, and facility requirements, including certifications such as BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHHS, and necessary background checks.
• Participate in orientation assessments and ongoing competency modules annually.

Qualifications:

• Valid permanent Ohio license or compact state license in hand at submission.
• Minimum of 18 months of recent pediatric ICU experience, preferably within a single facility or combined.
• Proven experience with epilepsy monitoring, EKG rhythm recognition, and managing pediatric inotropes.
• Active certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS; NIHHS preferred.
• Ability to pass ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments with acceptable scores.
• Must have valid references from recent supervisory or managerial staff within the last 12 months.
