Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Rensselaer, IN

Discover a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in students’ educational experiences as a Full-Time Sign Language Interpreter in the Wheatfield, Indiana area. This contract assignment spans the academic year, starting August 12, 2026, and ending on May 27, 2027. In this role, you will provide direct 1:1 support, fostering communication access and inclusion for a student who is deaf or hard of hearing. Responsibilities: Facilitate clear, accurate communication between the student, teachers, and peers using American Sign Language (ASL) Interpret classroom instructions, activities, discussions, and school events to ensure equal access to educational content Adapt quickly to diverse settings, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality at all times Collaborate closely with classroom teachers and other educational professionals to support the student’s learning goals Assist with interpreting during meetings or extracurricular activities as needed Support the student’s social interaction and participation in all aspects of school life Maintain accurate and timely records as required Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational environments preferred Credentials meeting state requirements for interpreting in schools Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a collaborative team Commitment to fostering an inclusive, respectful environment for all students #J-18808-Ljbffr Soliant Health
