About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Surgical ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Rotating Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: - Required experience in a dedicated Open-Heart Unit receiving patients directly from the operating room. - Current experience with recovery of post-operative cardiac surgery patients in an ICU setting. - Proficiency with ventilators, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), Swan-Ganz catheters, epicardial wires/pacemakers, vasoactive drip titration, Level 1 Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), and Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO). License: - Active RN License Certifications: - Basic Life Support (BLS) required - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred - Critical Care Certification preferred - Trauma course preferred - Epic certification preferred Must-Have: - Ability to work in a high-acuity environment. - Flexibility to work rotating shifts. Description: This role involves providing care for patients recovering from cardiac surgery, cardiac transplantation, lung transplantation, and the placement of ventricular assist devices. The unit accommodates patients who have undergone complex procedures. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1 or 1:2.
