Common Diagnoses: HIE/Cooling, CDH, NEC, respiratory distress/failure. Typical surgeries: gastroschesis, oomphaloceles, abdominal surgeries, myelomeningoceles, fresh trachs, g-tubes. Special Procedures/Unit Details : ****PASS 2 years Level 4 experience. May SCREEN for Level 3 experience if the level 3 is a surgery center*****Must be able to float to Pediatric ICU and Cardiothoracic ICU & Med Surg if hired for main campus within their scope of practice as well as NICU at other satellite locations. *Travelers will not be assigned patients over 2 years oldManager is looking for strong level 4 travelers that have experience with Surgical NICU patients. Satellite locations: Scripps HillcrestScripps La Jolla Scripps Encinitas Palomar Hospital Rancho Springs Must be flexible with 12 hour variable / rotations shifts; the schedule is published at the beginning of each month so the traveler will be on the same shift for the entire schedule. But when a new schedule is published they could rotate to the opposite shift they were on OR could even stay on the same shift. The managers do their best to accommodate the travelers shift preference but please let your travelers know they need to be flexible and would be expected to work days and nights within the 13 week contract. 12 D/N rotation/weekends/holidays and flexible with 12 hour variable shifts - days/nights are required. Must work 2 out of the 3 holidays. DNR / Rehire Eligibility: Rady Children s and Children s Hospital of Orange County have merged to form Rady Children s Health. Any clinician who is a DNR for CHOC will not be considered for Rady. Eligibility for a cancelled CHOC traveler to submit to Rady must be reviewed by Rady leadership. Mileage Reimbursement For NICU and HomeCare positions, travelers are reimbursed for mileage when driving to any location other than their assigned home base facility. Mileage is reimbursed at the IRS standard rate. Reimbursement forms must be submitted within 30 days of floating and must include unit manager approval. Modules Modules are non-billable for RN and Allied travelers. Up to 10 hours of modules may be required. Modules are completed pre-start. Time spent completing modules does not count toward orientation hours. Module hours must be margined for in order to be paid. Module completion is recorded via transcripts. Transcripts confirm whether modules are completed but do not record time spent.
