Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

Reserve Health offers primary care, specialized services for public safety personnel, comprehensive medical and mental health resources for correctional environments. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner role based in Gaston County Jail in Gastonia, NC. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans, and manage psychotropic medications for individuals with a range of mental health conditions. Daily responsibilities include conducting follow-up visits, monitoring treatment effectiveness, coordinating care with physicians, therapists, and other members of the mental health team, and maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation. The role also involves providing patient education, supporting crisis intervention when needed, and collaborating with internal and external partners to ensure continuity of care. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is expected to participate in quality improvement activities and uphold Reserve Health's commitment to patient-centered, cost-effective mental health care. Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in Mental Health Nursing and Nursing, with a strong clinical foundation in assessment, diagnosis, and therapeutic interventions. Licensure and experience as a Nurse Practitioner, including proficiency in advanced practice nursing and independent clinical decision-making. Proficiency in Mental Health Care and Psychiatric Care, including medication management, crisis assessment, and long-term treatment planning. Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) and Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) license in the state of North Carolina, or eligibility to obtain. Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program, with national certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and with diverse patient populations. Experience in outpatient psychiatric settings, integrated care, or correctional health environments is beneficial. Competence with electronic health records (EHR), clinical documentation standards, and adherence to regulatory and ethical guidelines. #J-18808-Ljbffr Reserve Health, PC
