Director of Nursing – Behavioral Health (Youth Inpatient)

Location: Bakersfield, CA
Job Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (RN) to lead nursing operations for a youth inpatient behavioral health program. The DON will oversee nursing staff, ensure quality patient care, maintain regulatory compliance, and support a safe, therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise nursing staff and daily operations.
• Ensure high-quality, compliant patient care.
• Manage staffing, scheduling, and performance.
• Develop and implement nursing policies and quality initiatives.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Active California RN license.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Nursing administration experience:
  • Associate: 4+ years
  • Bachelor's: 2+ years
  • Master's: 1+ year
• 1+ year supervising psychiatric nursing within the past 6 years.
• 1+ year managing RNs in a behavioral health setting within the past 6 years.
• Director of Nursing experience in psychiatric or skilled nursing settings preferred.
• CPR & Pro-ACT certification (or obtain within 30 days).
• Valid California Driver's License.

Schedule & Benefits

• Full-Time, Exempt
• 4 weekdays + 1 weekend day (10:00 AM–6:30 PM)
• $120,000–$135,000/year
• $10,000 Sign-On Bonus
