Financial Controller

Financial Controller Location: Columbus, OH Industry: Technology & Fintech Employment Type: Full-Time Reports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) or VP of Finance Position Overview: We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Financial Controller to lead our client's accounting and financial operations in a fast‑paced technology and fintech environment. This role will be instrumental in driving financial integrity, compliance, and scalability as the company continues to grow and innovate. Key Responsibilities Oversee all accounting operations including billing, A/R, A/P, GL, cost accounting, and revenue recognition. Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP. Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting. Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis in collaboration with department heads. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations and tax filings. Support fundraising efforts, investor reporting, and financial due diligence. Implement and optimize financial systems and ERP platforms (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage Intacct). Mentor and manage a growing team of accountants and analysts. Partner with executive leadership to provide strategic financial insights and recommendations. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred. 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a controller or senior finance role. Experience in the technology or fintech sector strongly preferred. Deep understanding of SaaS metrics, subscription revenue models, and fintech compliance. Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems. Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills. Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high‑growth environment.
