Job Title: Powder Coat Painter

Job Description

This role sets up and operates painting and drying units along a conveyor line to apply powder coating to metal products. You will ensure consistent, high-quality paint coverage on all parts passing through the paint booth, as well as handle and package finished components. The position combines hands-on production work, quality-focused painting, and general labor tasks in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate painting and drying units along the conveyor line to coat metal products with powder paint according to established methods and procedures.
• Apply paint powder to all parts that pass through the paint booth, ensuring complete coverage and maintaining high-quality standards for the finished coating.
• Monitor the painting process to ensure equipment functions properly and coatings meet visual and performance expectations.
• Hang parts on the production line, including components weighing up to 50 pounds, following safe lifting and handling practices.
• Remove parts from the line after painting and drying, inspecting them for quality and completeness.
• Package finished parts accurately and securely for shipment or further processing, following established packaging procedures.
• Perform general production and labor tasks as needed to support the overall manufacturing process.
• Follow all safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work area in and around the paint booth and conveyor line.

Essential Skills

• At least 6 months of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Experience with powder coat painting or powder coating processes.
• Ability to perform general labor and production tasks in a fast-paced setting.
• Capability to lift and handle parts weighing up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly.
• Basic knowledge of paint preparation and application in an industrial setting.
• Attention to detail to maintain consistent paint quality and proper packaging.
• Reliability and willingness to work assigned shifts and occasional overtime.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in general production or packaging in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in painting, powder coating, or paint preparation.
• Comfort working with conveyor-based production systems.
• Interest in learning other areas such as fabrication, welding, maintenance, assembly, or supervisory roles.
• Strong work ethic and commitment to meeting production and quality goals.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing facility on the second shift, typically running from 2:15 p.m. to 11:15 p.m. The standard workday is currently 9 hours, with plans to return to 8-hour days once production levels stabilize. Occasional overtime is required, including roughly one half-day Saturday per month. You will work in and around paint booths, drying units, and conveyor lines, handling metal parts and packaging finished components. The environment is production-focused, with an emphasis on safety, consistent throughput, and maintaining high-quality finishes on all painted products. Pay starts at $18+ with a $1.50 shift premium

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Johnson Creek, WI.

The pay range for this position is $19.75 - $20.96/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
