About the Position

Job Title: Emergency Department Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year recent experience in the field of specialty License: Registered Nurse License (State of Alabama or Compact license required) Certifications: AHA ACLS, AHA BLS, AHA PALS, Red Cross NIH, TNCC Must-Have: - Willingness to float to other units and hospitals - Availability for holidays and every other weekend Description: The Emergency Department offers comprehensive emergency medical services to all age groups. The staff is available 24/7 and is composed of highly trained professionals to meet the needs of the community. The Emergency Department treats more than 60,000 patients per year. The nurse-to-patient ratio ranges from 1:1 for critical/trauma patients to 1:3-4 for all other patients. An associate degree in nursing is required. Two years of experience is preferred, but 18 months will be considered if working at the highest level of professional license. Candidates must have a minimum of 1 year of recent experience in the specialty. This position is patient-facing. This is a clinical position. EMR used is Meditech. Solid navy scrubs are the designated dress code. This position may require flexibility to work in different units and hospitals as needed.
