Licensed Clinical Supervisor San Diego Youth Services seeks a Licensed Clinical Supervisor in the Quality Management program to be based in San Diego. This temporary, full-time exempt position spans July through October and reports to the Quality Management Manager, with part-time hours considered for the right candidate. San Diego Youth Services has helped improve the lives of more than 840,000 homeless, runaway and vulnerable youth since its beginning in 1970. We provide safe places to live and long-term solutions through shelter, foster homes, community centers and housing to more than 28,000 youth every year at 100+ community and school locations. Through prevention, early intervention and treatment, we also help youth before they need higher levels of care or become homeless. Context of Position The Licensed Clinical Supervisor reports to the Director of Quality Management for day-to-day clinical oversight and operations. Responsible for the development and maintenance of an integrated treatment approach for youth with co-occurring mental health and substance disorders and quality trauma-informed youth and family services, including overall supervision of the contracted components. The clinical supervisor is responsible for providing clinical supervision for program staff, clinical staff, trainees/interns, and volunteers. This position coordinates and monitors clinical oversight, training, supervision, quality assurance and quality improvement of documentation standards, relationships with placement universities, county partners, and other clinical administrative functions. Clinical Supervisor will work collaboratively with Program Managers and Directors of Service as part of Record Review and provide clinical oversight for assigned programs. Essential Functions The development, implementation, and evaluation of an integrated treatment approach for youth and families with co-occurring mental health and substance disorders and quality trauma informed youth programs that adhere to and uphold the rigorous standards of San Diego Youth Services as mandated by its mission, purpose, guiding principles and standards of quality. Facilitates application, interview, and assignment process of agency trainees/interns. Train, embrace and manage volunteers in the organization as applicable. Provides individual and group clinical supervision on a weekly basis and as needed. Provides individual and group to program staff as assigned/needed. Utilizes co-therapy, live supervision, and audio/visual methods for teaching and supervision as required. Available on call to consult with staff on clinical emergencies, including but not limited to any safety, legal or ethical issues. Provides consultation to program managers and attends treatment teams. Assists with client assignments, monitors case progress from intake to termination. Conducts weekly quality assurance and quality improvement reviews to ensure that staff, trainee/interns, and volunteers are following documentation standards. Performs Record Reviews in EHRs used by agency and participates in audits and county meetings as appropriate. Supports program documentation through regular reviews and audits as appropriate. Performs clinical youth and family assessments as requested. Monitors service delivery and contract administration, as needed. Maintains outreach and collaborations with schools, law enforcement, child protective services, alternative sites, mental health practitioners, local psychiatrists, hospital in-patient providers and other providers as needed. Responsible for implementing projects consistent with community health and agency direction. Provides intern and staff training on clinical and agency approved topics. Participates in staff meetings and trainings as assigned. Maintains written and statistical reports on program activity. Maintains certification for clinical supervision of clinical staff, interns, and volunteers. Maintain confidentiality and privacy standards of service-partners health protected information, as well as other applicable information and material in accordance to agency and center policies, and applicable regulations and laws including HIPAA. Respond to service-partners during a crisis or urgent matter, including those that occur outside of normal business operating hours, by implementing and following the on-call procedures whenever the rotation of on-call falls into the scope of responsibilities for the assigned period. Preferred Education, Years of Experience and Qualifications Understanding and commitment to agency Mission and Vision. Preferred master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, MFT or Psychology. Required California Clinical licensing: LCSW, MFT, Psych, or LPCC. Minimum of two years post-licensure experience. Must have taken the minimal CA required supervisor courses required to provide supervision. Have taken or is willing to take the AAMFT Approved Supervision courses and work toward being an Approved Supervisor. Preferred Bilingual. Preferred to have lived experience as a consumer of services. Specific knowledge and experience working with high-risk children, youth and their families. Experience with County of San Diego Behavioral Health Services Medi-Cal documentation standards and Cerner Community Behavioral Health (CCBH) Electronic Health Record (EHR) preferred. Must be willing to develop or possess working knowledge of trauma-informed care and dual diagnosis treatment; experience working in trauma-informed and dual diagnosis programs preferred. Experience with supervision, training, and scheduling of staff; experience with youth and designing youth leadership systems, preferably in alcohol and/or drug treatment and/or residential settings. Knowledge of law enforcement, school, child protective service systems highly desirable. Be willing to obtain Alcohol and other Drug Certification. Documented ability to supervise clinical staff, trainees/interns and volunteers. Ability to create and facilitate training presentations. Management and program development skills preferred. Experience with using Excel for data collection and interpretation, Word, Power Point, building and interpreting surveys. Criminal clearance: Child Abuse Index Check Ability to get along with a wide range of people and work in many settings. Must be able to work with and represent a culturally and ethnically diverse community. Supervisory Responsibilities This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
