Must-Have:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required
Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) preferred
Three years of leadership experience in a nursing capacity or an equivalent combination of education and experience required
CCRN, PCCN, or similar high acuity certification preferred


Description:
Provide daily leadership, direction, and oversight of the Med Surg Unit.
Ensure high-quality patient care and compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Supervise, coach, and mentor staff to foster professional growth, accountability, and engagement.
Develop staffing schedules and determine appropriate staffing patterns to meet patient care needs and workload demands.
Monitor, analyze, and manage workforce productivity to ensure appropriate resource allocation and alignment with organizational goals.
Collaborate with nursing leadership and Human Resources in recruitment, selection, orientation, and retention of staff.
Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
Implement corrective actions when necessary.
Facilitate staff education, training, and competency assessments.
Support career advancement and certification opportunities for staff.
Assist with budget preparation and monitoring.
Implement cost-containment strategies while ensuring effective resource utilization.
Maintain unit readiness for regulatory surveys and audits.
Ensure staff adherence to accreditation, documentation, and safety standards.
Actively support and participate in fostering a healthy work environment and shared decision-making.
Participate in nursing leadership on-call rotation to provide support and guidance to staff across nursing units.
Occasionally step into direct staffing roles within the Med Surg Unit to ensure safe, continuous patient care during high census or staffing shortages.
Track, identify trends, and improve nurse-sensitive adverse events.
Collaborate with other nurse leaders to support optimal staffing and direct resources appropriately.
Track and collaborate on competency management for unit staff.
