Senior Continuous Improvement Lean Leader

Simpson Strong‑Tie is a leader in engineered structural connectors, software, and solutions for the building industry. Responsibilities Coaches and teaches continuous improvement methodologies, embedding lean data‑based thinking into others (20%). Develops alignment with Regional & Home Office Lean Team while driving a local lean management system, ensuring standardized processes, problem‑solving, and governance are in place for sustainable results (20%). Utilizes value‑stream mapping and lean tools to select the right blend of kaizen events, projects, and initiatives that drive business improvement (20%). Leads and facilitates lean activities such as kaizen events and lean process reviews; works with event or project leader to prepare for kaizen events using A3 techniques (20%). Develops and executes a lean transformation roadmap for branches, including plant and transactional office improvements; conducts lean assessments and creates action plans to address improvement opportunities (10%). Develops metrics and cost‑tracking mechanisms to quantify safety, quality, cost, and cash improvements (10%). Qualifications Bachelor’s degree, preferably in an engineering discipline. Lean and Six Sigma Black Belt certification. 8–12 years of demonstrated lean application experience with training on the “Gemba” preferred. Process‑oriented thinker who focuses on process over results and believes the right process yields right results. Experience developing and managing initiatives that identify cost‑reduction and productivity improvement opportunities. Proficiency in standard Lean problem‑solving tools: data analytics, Pareto charting, Fishbone, 5 Why’s, A3, Six Sigma, and Kaizen. Ability to drive a culture of accountability throughout the organization and facilitate effective goal development and deployment aligned with company vision. Exceptional relationship‑building skills and the ability to lead by building trust. Hands‑on knowledge in value stream mapping, standard work, pull systems, inventory right‑sizing, and transactional deployment. Strong problem‑solving skills using root‑cause analysis and Lean tools. Clear communication skills across written, verbal, and non‑verbal methods; ability to present and facilitate effectively. Attention to detail, pursuit of continuous improvement, and ability to own and act on problems. Analytical reasoning to handle complex problems and multiple variables. Execution focus: prioritizing tasks, maintaining organized monitoring systems, and overcoming obstacles. Innovation mindset: generating new ideas, challenging the status quo, and supporting change. Physical Requirements & Work Environment Frequent sitting, talking, hearing; occasional walking and standing; may require occasional lifting up to 25 lbs. Work is performed in a professional office environment using standard office equipment. Travel Approximately 10% domestic travel required. Work Status & Location Full‑time, exempt. Location: Gallatin, TN. Relocation available. Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $93,400 – $158,000 per year. Quarterly bonuses or commissions.
