Job Description
Exciting Opportunity for Wound Care RNs!

Job Description:
- Shift: Days (4/10s)
- Floating Requirements:
- Float to various facilities as needed (St Clare, St Elizabeth, St Frances, St Anthony, St Anne)
- Advanced notice provided for floating


- Unit Overview:
- Wound Care Unit
- Patient Load: 5-15 patients per day, depending on consultations
- Staff Ratio: 3-4 RNs in the role


- Required Certifications:
- BLS Certification
- WOCN preferred, WCC accepted


- Common Diagnoses/Types of Wounds:
- Ostomies, draining wounds, fistulas (25% of cases)
- Pressure ulcers, vascular and arterial ulcers, diabetic ulcerations
- Skin conditions due to incontinence, surgical procedures, trauma
- Skin/tissue integrity issues, altered continence, wound vacs


- Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate patient care and wound management
- Conduct assessments, recommendations, and documentation
- Ensure compliance with established standards and timelines
- Provide patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Facilitate discharge for supplies
- Utilize phone for photo documentation


- Experience/Skills Required:
- CWON certification preferred
- Previous travel experience not required


- Orientation:
- Comprehensive orientation across all facilities
- Preceptor support and documentation education


- Additional Information:
- Scrub color/dress code: No preference
- Cancellation Policy: Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts for 13-week assignments
