Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified candidate to join our team in a remote position. The selected individual will work flexible hours primarily from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM PST, with a requirement to rotate weekend shifts every third weekend.

Job Details

Shift: Day 5x8-Hour (08:00 - 16:30)
Location: Remote (Pacific Standard Time)
Orientation Hours: 40 hours

Requirements

Licensure: Must possess a valid California license.
Experience: Minimum 3 years of acute medical Care Manager/Utilization Management experience in a hospital setting is required.
Charting System: Proficiency in Epic is mandatory, with recent experience within the last 6-12 months.
Medicare Knowledge: Experience with Medicare regulations and utilization management processes is essential.
Technical Requirements: Must be able to work in a fully remote environment and demonstrate proficiency in remote utilization review work.

Patient Care Details

Patient Age Groups: Adolescents, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics
Patient Diagnoses: A variety of adult and pediatric acute and chronic diagnoses

Key Responsibilities

Perform utilization review for inpatient, hospital outpatient, and observation services.
Utilize InterQual criteria for assessing medical necessity and compliance with healthcare regulations.
Participate in case management and care coordination activities to ensure high-quality patient care.
Conduct concurrent and retrospective reviews according to established admission criteria and guidelines.

Additional Information

Flexibility to rotate between multiple facilities as necessary.
Strict adherence to California labor laws regarding work hours, breaks, and overtime.
Commitment to working during three of the five major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) is required.
