Job Description
The Part-Time Bookkeeper/Tax Preparer role is ideal for an experienced professional with a strong background in bookkeeping and familiarity with tax preparation. This on-site position offers flexible afternoon hours and focuses primarily on supporting small businesses and individual clients. Proficiency with QuickBooks Online is essential, along with experience in related software to ensure accurate financial management and reporting. The position also includes limited general office duties and presents potential growth opportunities, including a transition to full-time hours for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping records and manage QuickBooks Online accounts
- Prepare tax documents and assist with tax preparation tasks
- Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary financial information
- Enter financial data with precision and attention to detail
- Utilize various software including Microsoft Office, CCH Axcess, ProSystem Fx, Tax Dome, and Acrobat
- Generate and review software-based financial reports
- Perform limited general office tasks as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in bookkeeping and tax preparation
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- Advanced skills in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel
- Familiarity with Tax Dome, CCH Axcess, ProSystem Fx, and Acrobat software
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Excellent communication abilities
