Administrative Operations Specialist – Foot-in-the-Door State Government Opportunity

We have an immediate opening for an Administrative Operations Specialist for an office with a tax focus in Augusta. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience with a State of Maine department while building skills that can open doors to future government opportunities. This position pays $25 per hour and is a temporary assignment with the potential for extension.

Typical Daily Duties:

• Contact taxpayers by phone and in writing to obtain or clarify information
• Discuss and explain tax forms, policies, and procedures with taxpayers
• Review tax returns, applications, and records for completeness and accuracy
• Maintain detailed records and update information using spreadsheets and other computer systems
• Provide administrative support related to tax documentation and compliance processes
