Position Details Working Title: SPECIAL INVESTIGATOR Classification: SPECIAL INVESTIGATOR Location: Los Angeles County Telework: Hybrid Position Type: Permanent, Full Time Salary: $5,528.00 - $6,863.00 A (minimum salary of the classification will be applied for new to State candidates) Job Description and Duties Special Investigators within the Investigation Division are designated under California Penal Code 830.11 as officers of the state authorized to exercise limited peace officer powers, such as arrests and the execution of search warrants, upon completion of a Penal Code 832–Arrest course. Under general direction of the Supervising Special Investigator I – Non-Peace Officer (Supervising Investigator) or designee, incumbents conduct insurance investigations relating to regulatory compliance and/or criminal investigations, including enforcement of California and Federal laws related to the transaction of insurance. This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code and requires completion of a Statement of Economic Interest. The appointee must file assuming, annual, and leaving office filings to ensure compliance.
