Painter 3Johnston County Public SchoolsFacility ServicesPay Grade: 63High school diploma or GED preferred5+ years experience preparation and painting1+ years experience patching and drywall finishing.Must possess a valid driver's licenseReports to: Paint ForemanDuties and Responsibilities:Uses the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing dutiesPrioritizes the safety of themselves and others around their work area.Understands the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) of products being applied and how product(s) may impact themselves and othersApplies paint to interior and exterior of buildings, furniture and other structures by brush, roller or spray equipment. Applies waterproofing materials to exterior of buildingsAbility to erect and remove portable mechanical scaffoldingPrepares and cleans surfaces by use of sandpaper, burners, scrapers, sanding machines, dusters and paint removersMaintains a clean work area and leaves a quality finished productProperly cleans painting equipment and tools to mitigate the need for replacementAbility to routinely climb and work from ladders safely (3 points of contact)Work from elevated platforms: E.g. scissor lifts, atrium lift heights up to but not limited to 60' (Training and safety harnesses will be provided)Ability to work around students and staffServes as team player and role model for other employees in the organization; demonstrates a commitment to continued quality improvement; supports and exhibits organization's core values of caring; respect, integrity, responsibility, high expectations, being customer driven, and valuing diversityDemonstrates time management skills and prioritizes work properlyProficient in at least two of the following: plastering, spray painting, drywall finishingPerforms other duties and accepts responsibilities as assignedPhysical Requirements:Must be able to perform medium/ heavy lifting exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionallyMust be able to climb ladders and work in outdoor environments, heat/cold.Special Requirements: Must possess a valid driver's license.
