ORGANIZATION: Founded in 1958, Assistance League of Denver (ALD) is a volunteer-driven nonprofit organization serving children, families, and seniors throughout the Denver metro area. With more than 200 voting volunteer members, ALD delivers programs that expand educational opportunities, support health and well being, and strengthen our community.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Development Director oversees ALD's fundraising program, securing philanthropic support through individual giving, corporate sponsorships, foundation grants, planned giving, and strategic partnerships. The Development Director also collaborates with the Executive Director and Marketing Committee to advance volunteer recruitment and public awareness efforts.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Fundraising and Development

• Develop and implement an annual fundraising plan.
• Cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with donors, corporate partners, foundations, and community stakeholders.
• Research, prepare, and manage grant proposals and reporting.
• Prepare donor acknowledgments and stewardship communications.
• Maintain donor records and fundraising data.
• Work with the Executive Director and volunteer leadership to achieve fundraising goals.

Community Engagement and Marketing

• Support volunteer recruitment through community outreach and public awareness initiatives.
• Represent ALD at community events, networking opportunities, and speaking engagements.
• Develop and maintain corporate partnerships that provide financial support and volunteer engagement opportunities.
• Maintain ALD's presence on fundraising and nonprofit platforms, including Colorado Gives Day, Charity Navigator, Candid, and others.

Administration

• Manage the ALD Event Center rental program.
• Prepare fundraising reports and monitor progress toward annual goals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Nonprofit experience preferred with demonstrated success in fundraising, donor and sponsor cultivation, and community engagement. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
• Demonstrated success securing financial support from individuals, corporations, foundations, or community partners.
• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and public speaking skills, including grant writing and donor communications.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Thrives while engaging volunteers, navigating organizational change, and fostering shared decision making.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, donor database or CRM software, and social media platforms.
