Experienced Carpenters NeededWe are now accepting applications for experienced carpenters for Garyville, LA and surrounding areas. Duties and responsibilities may include:Responsible for working with wood to build and repair structures and other items and they also may have to select and source appropriate materials depending on project needs. Their duties include calculating quotes, meeting with clients and creating design plans for remodeling projects.Position requirements:Valid TWICValid OSHA. Will be required to take Marathon Site OrientationMust be able to pass hair follicle testMust be able to pass criminal background checkRequired skills:MUST HAVE 5 YEARS MIN EXPERIENCEProven experience as carpenterAbility to read construction drawings and blueprintsAbility to take measurements and calculating the size and amount of material neededStrong oral & written communication skillsAbility to work effectively with othersExcellent organizational skills, ability to multi-taskGood physical condition and enduranceGood understanding of basic mathDuties and responsibilities:Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirementsProficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.)Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and constructionTake measurements and calculate the size and amount of material neededCut, shape and smooth lumber and other material (e.g. fiberglass) according to measurementsBuild window frames, doors, staircases and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed itemsLay out floorings, roofings or drywalls ensuring they are leveled and compatibleCarve and assemble furniture, cabinets, shelves and other items and install them where designatedInspect places and conduct repairs or maintenanceBuild scaffolding and other construction structuresManage housekeeping activities when requested.Maintain the work area clean, safe and organized.Assist in waste disposal and recycling activitiesCleanup work area and equipment after work is completed.Execute daily work instructions received from Supervisor in a timely manner.Work effectively to meet or exceed productivity goals while maintaining high quality standards.Practice safety procedures in accordance with training and guidelines when working.Comply with company policies and legal guidelines, helping to maintain a safe and orderly work environmentMeet quality and performance requirements as outlined by quality assurance and production standardsReport safety hazards, quality, and production issues to management immediatelyPhysical requirements:Ability to lift up to 50 lbsAbility to use hand and power tools.Have endurance to perform tasks over long periods of time.Will be required to bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, and crawl to perform taskAbility to work outdoors in harsh weather conditions.Ability to work in varying hot and cold environmentsAbility to work in an environment with exposures to dust, dirt and various other debris, metal and paint fumes, gasesWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to high, precarious places and outside weather conditionsThe employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shockDocuments required:Driver's License/IdentificationSocial Security Card/Birth CertificateMust be able to provide own PPE (Hard hat, steel toes, safety glasses, & gloves)Must have reliable transportation (Traveling will be required depending on location of current assignment)Must be able to pass a drug screenPay: $20 - $25 (Based on experience)Weekly PayPay Schedule: Monday - SundaySchedule: Monday - Friday (Weekends as needed)Duration of job: 2 - 3 months
