About the Role

Huntington Learning Center is seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to serve as the first point of contact for our students and families. This role is essential to creating a welcoming, supportive environment while ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the center. The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, excels at customer service, and thrives in a fast-paced setting where no two days are exactly the same.

In the evenings you'll often be the closing staff member on site, working alongside our teachers and Managing Directors to keep the center running smoothly.

Pay : $16 to $20 per hour, with annual cost-of-living raises

Key Responsibilities

• Greet students, parents, and visitors with professionalism and enthusiasm, creating a positive and welcoming experience
• Answer incoming phone calls and respond to parent and prospective family inquiries
• Assist walk-in visitors by providing information about Huntington's programs and collecting contact information for prospective families
• Check students in and keep the evening schedule running, including last-minute changes
• Administer academic evaluations and testing for students
• Monitor and process academic evaluation notifications and scheduling requests received via email
• Prepare materials and conference folders for enrollment meetings with families
• Send reminders, updates, and other communications to families via email and text
• Schedule student practice tests and manage related logistics
• Organize and oversee the center's student engagement initiatives
• Order, organize, and maintain office supplies and administrative materials
• Update center displays, information boards, and other parent-facing communications
• Support daily center operations and assist with additional administrative projects as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Friendly, professional, and customer-service-oriented demeanor
• Enjoys working with children and families
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Proficient with basic computer applications and comfortable learning new software systems
• Reliable availability for the full schedule below, every week

Schedule

Guaranteed hours, 27 per week, every week:

• Monday-Friday 4:30-8:30 PM
• Saturday 8:30 AM-3:30 PM

This is an in-person position based at our learning center and is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships with families while helping students achieve their academic goals.
