Sr. Development Officer, Foundations Relations Full-time Regular Lone Star, Dallas, TX, US 19 days ago Requisition ID: 2215 This position is Supervised by: Vice President of Development This position Supervises/Manages: None Essential Functions of the Position: The Senior Development Officer, Foundation Relations reports to the Vice President of Development and works closely with members of the development team, senior leadership, the board of directors, and key volunteers at the SPCA of Texas. The Senior Development Officer is responsible for developing strategies for the identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of foundations, organizations, and corporate prospects, with a focus on initiating, maintaining, and deepening relationships with the institutions on behalf of the SPCA of Texas. The Senior Development Officer's role requires the leader to be collaborative, have a growth mindset, demonstrate integrity in all donor communications and interactions, and be able to balance both strategic thinking and building meaningful and transformative relationships on behalf of the SPCA of Texas. The FRO should have strong internal and external communication skills and be able to represent the mission of the SPCA of Texas in a professional, enthusiastic manner. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Build relationships with institutional donors and prospects to deeply engage them with the SPCA of Texas mission. Maintain an annual foundation portfolio and grants calendar to coordinate cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship timelines. Provide budgeting guidance to the organization as it relates to annual foundation giving projections and foundation relationship management expenses. Build relationships with key external stakeholders, including foundation staff, board members, and other donors. Build relationships with key internal stakeholders, including program staff, senior leadership, volunteers, and committee members to stay current on program offerings and impact. Align institutional donor giving with the SPCA's strategic priorities. Record and maintain donor strategies, information, and actions in Raiser's Edge NXT Develop and maintain up-to-date subject matter knowledge related to job responsibilities and institutional giving to deliver a robust range of high-touch donor engagement opportunities. Maintain ongoing familiarity with animal welfare research and trends. Assist the Vice President for Development and the development team on special projects and events as they are identified. Raiser’s Edge knowledge and experience preferred. Strong organizational skills, internal and external communication, attention to detail, and ability to be self‑motivated and disciplined. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic data entry skills Ability to maintain confidentiality. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience. May be exposed to loud noise, strong odors, and airborne particles. Will regularly interact with animals, including those who may be fearful, stressed, or fractious.
