Landscape Architect

Landscape ArchitectWaggonner & Ball, a Moffatt & Nichol Studio, is actively seeking a Landscape Architect to join our New Orleans office.Waggonner & Ball is an internationally respected urban planning, design, and architecture firm with an interdisciplinary practice committed to creating resilient landscapes, buildings, and communities. Our projects span all scales from buildings and sites to regions with a focus on water, culture, and history.Duties and responsibilities:Develops and supports creative design concepts for clients/projectsPrepares and produces CAD drawings to create and document architectural designsInterfaces with client on design issues and determines and develops architectural solutionsDevelops, modifies, and reviews production drawings and construction documents and corrects and updates documents as requiredDevelops solutions for basic design problemsAssists with master planning, site planning and design efforts and documentation development, utilizing 2-D and 3-D modeling and digital presentation packagingProvides creative design direction during the conceptual and schematic phases of projectsPerforms design computations, specifications, compile data for basic to complex architectural assignmentsAssists in the construction administration phase by reviewing shop drawings and creating a master log of the project submittals, as well as answering Request for Information (RFI) and Supplemental Information (SI) and preparation of change directivesPrepares finished material sample boards and graphic presentations for client approvalCoordinates or assists with outside disciplines such as Civil, Structural, Electrical and Mechanical and other consultants with the landscape and site designsReviews applicable codes and conducts zoning analyses to ensure that designs comply with minimum legal standardsEnsures timely and effective management and delivery of drawings to ensure project goals and objectives have been satisfiedStays current with graphic standards and building construction methodsPerforms other duties as requested by managementQualifications:Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree with approximately 5 years of landscape architecture and design experience; Masters of Landscape Architecture preferredLandscape Architect License preferredInterest in working at all scales of design, from regional systems to details, and all project phasesKnowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, material application, and manufacturer-supplier appropriatenessMastery of Adobe CC requiredProficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Land Fx, Rhino, and rendering softwareArcGIS Pro proficiency preferredStrong verbal and written communication skillsAll new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171Waggonner & Ball, a Moffatt & Nichol Studio uses E-Verify and employment is contingent upon the legal ability to obtain employment in the U.S. and to present the required documentation at hirePhysical requirements:Majority of work is office based.
