Registered Nurse - Behavioral Health, Full-Time, Days

Job Description Join the hospital trusted by Chicago’s Southland, Ingalls Memorial Hospital, in this role as a Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) with the Behavioral Health department. Eligible for a Sign‑On Bonus up to $15,000. Under the leadership of the Director and the Clinical Supervisor, the Behavioral Health RN performs assigned supportive work in connection with the delivery of patient care. Responsibilities include functional tasks and skills, utilizing interactive processes that exceed patient expectations, providing high quality, cost‑effective care and treatment. The RN demonstrates necessary skills and knowledge to provide care according to unit‑specific competencies, as appropriate to the age of the patients served. The RN follows and actively supports the philosophy, mission and vision of Ingalls Hospital. The RN adheres to all hospital policies, procedures and standards of care, and complies with all corporate compliance requirements, communicating issues as they arise. The RN works in partnership with other Patient Care Team members, proactively assists physicians, and identifies and provides for individual patient and family needs. Required Qualifications Must hold a current Illinois RN License Must hold a current BLS License Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; ADN is required Must have good knowledge of the principles and practice of psychiatric and addiction treatment Completes annual department competency checklist Facilitates assigned groups in ways that encourage and require maximum patient participation and interaction appropriate to functional level of group members Must have exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills when dealing with patients, families, physicians and co‑workers; ability to function in an extended team environment and in a fast‑paced environment Prior experience working with patients with addiction issues Preferred Qualifications Previous Behavioral Health or related experience providing care to patients within at least the last five years Position Details Job Type/FTE: Full Time (0.9 FTE) Shift: Days, 12‑HR Shifts Unit/Department: Behavioral Health CBA Code: National Nurses Union (NNU) Work Location: Onsite Compensation & Benefits Overview UChicago Medicine is committed to transparency in compensation and benefits.
