Laboratory Technician I – Job Description Full‑time entry level position Monday – Friday, 12:30 pm – 9:00 pm. Candidates living within a commutable distance of North Kingstown, RI are encouraged to apply. Compensation $18–20 per hour (depending on experience) plus eligible for benefits. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Retrieving samples from Sample Control for analysis. Performing sample preparation using methods such as aliquoting, spiking, tracing, reagent preparation, bottling, concentration, separation, sonication, and liquid rack set up. Resolving discrepancies and anomalies to ensure samples are properly labeled. Preparing general laboratory paperwork: recording analysis results, tracking samples, bench sheets, and laboratory logbooks. Washing laboratory glassware to prepare for next day’s samples. Stocking laboratory supplies. Cleaning work area(s) to maintain a safe working environment. Assisting other laboratory areas as needed. The ideal candidate would possess: Comfortable with a fast‑paced, time‑sensitive laboratory. Ability to use calculator/mathematical formulas and concepts. Ability to use TALS. Ability to complete work within time and quality constraints. Can work independently following written or verbal instructions. Cooperate and coordinate both orally and in writing. Able to follow and learn appropriate protocols in one or more of the following disciplines: Organic preparation Metals preparation and analysis Gas Chromatography Gas Chromatography / Mass Spectrometry Radio Chemistry Wet Chemistry High‑Resolution preparation and analysis Low‑Resolution preparation and analysis Qualifications Basic Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. High school Chemistry coursework preferred. Basic laboratory experience preferred. Previous production‑oriented work helpful (awareness and ability to meet deadlines). Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; samples may be in coolers packed in ice. Professional working proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking). Perform other duties as assigned.
