Desired Qualifications:

• Prior experience in a preschool or elementary school environment, with a strong foundation in behavioral support
• For assistants: a valid New York Teacher’s Assistant Certification
• For aides: proven background in preschool settings or behavioral health roles
• Comfort and professionalism in assisting with personal care needs, including diaper changes
• Reliable, collaborative, and adaptable to the unique demands of one-on-one student support
• Effective communication skills to partner with classroom teachers and therapists
• Dedication to a nurturing, positive, and inclusive classroom community

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct, individualized support and engagement for a preschool student
• Assist with daily routines, classroom activities, and transitions
• Implement behavior support strategies as outlined by educational specialists
• Ensure the student’s safety, well-being, and active participation in classroom life
• Cooperate with teachers and staff to monitor and report on student progress
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times
• Be available for 32.5 hours each week, following the school calendar from September through mid-June
