Program Coordinator II - Institutional Safety - Mount Sinai Hospital - Full-Time

The Program Coordinator II is responsible for providing supervisory oversight and hands on administrative, operational and programmatic support services within the Environmental Health & Safety Department. The position will provide a specific service or carry out specific activities as a separate entity or as a component program within the department. The primary objective of this position is to manage the Health System’s compliance with the regulatory requirements relative to the use of respirators. The candidate will be responsible for the annual fit testing of all personnel at all Health System and offsite locations as well as the oversight of other staff assigned to the Fit Testing Program. The candidate will be responsible for managing of and the quality assessment of all records related to the program and will be a resource on the specific requirements established by OSHA. May be assigned other OSHA or Joint Commission duties to support the EH&S department.
Responsibilities- Ensures that adequate staffing, space utilization, equipment and other resources are available to best support the provisions of services and to meet the program goals and objectives.
- Assists with the scheduling of the fit test staff to be assigned to the Health System locations per the monthly fit test calendar
- Works closely with the program manager of the entire fit test process and will keep said manager apprised of all equipment and supply needs on a PAR basis
- May monitor the workflow and make adjustments to ensure the timely completion of program support activities. Provides and/or arranges staff training as needed, if applicable.
- Maintains liaison with staff in other departments to coordinate program activities and training; to accomplish program objectives; and to ensure cooperative efforts are enhanced and available resources are utilized.
- Assists in monitoring and evaluating program effectiveness; demonstrates continuous efforts to improve support operations and systems, to streamline work processes and to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the program.
- Provides assistance to staff in assigned areas to ensure program objectives are accomplished.
- Coordinates and oversees grant related issues, reporting of program statistics and the implementation of data collection procedures.
- Administers program procedures and systems. Ensures information is disseminated to staff regarding program and Mount Sinai Medical Center’s policies and procedures.
- Assists in the planning, coordination and implementation of seminars, conferences and workshops. Recommends new ideas and concepts for program themes, materials and resources to supplement, expand or replace existing program components.
- Assists in the preparation of program budgets and grants. May Assists in monitors, verifies and reconciles budget expenditures.
- May participate in hiring, performance appraisal, promotions, transfers and other personnel transactions as assigned.
- Performs additional assignments as required by operating needs of the company or as directed by management, including but not exclusive to: ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies; involvement in disaster response and planning.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree preferred; an equivalent combination of education and/or experience may substitute for the degree when the experiences are related to the duties of the job.

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $66482.07 - $85000 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
