Job OpportunityWe are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team in Daytona, FL. This is a temp-to-hire position, and candidates must be willing to transition to a permanent role upon the conclusion of the contract. Candidates are required to have housing arrangements in place prior to applying and must reside within 10 miles of the location to be considered.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform venipuncture and fingerstick procedures on patients as ordered.Utilize two unique identifiers to confirm patient identity and verify test orders prior to specimen collection.Prepare collection sites using aseptic techniques and select appropriate collection equipment.Accurately label specimens at the point of collection.Process, centrifuge, and prepare specimens for transport or analysis in accordance with laboratory protocols.Monitor patients for adverse reactions and provide appropriate first aid or escalate care as necessary.Maintain infection control and safety standards during all procedures.Collect and process non-blood specimens (e.g., urine) as required.Work in both front and back office settings, providing customer service and administrative support.QualificationsBilingual in Spanish is a plus.Must have experience in drawing blood.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Medical Assistant certification (CMA or CCMA) are required.A minimum of one year of experience in a medical setting is preferred.
