Performance Tester

DescriptionThis position requires the person to:Read, analyze and interpret performance testing requestsWork with software developers, business analysts, quality analysts, project managers, architects, and IT leadership to understand front-end and back-end system functionality, as well as architecture of the systemWork with software developers, business analysts, quality analysts, project managers, architects, and IT leadership to review performance testing requests, test plans, and test resultsGive recommendations to stakeholder groups of inefficiencies and potential solutionsWrite new test plans and update existing test plans for performance tests of various applicationsDesign, develop and maintain the automation processes and scripts for various performance tests using tools such as JMeter, NeoLoad, etc.Use, analyze and interpret test results from performance testing toolsUse monitoring tools, such as IBM Instana, SentryOne, BMC Apptune, and Splunk, to track an application’s performance metrics, behaviors and trendsCoordinate the execution of a performance test. Occasional execution of performance tests occurs outside of normal working hoursUse JIRA to track work and document progressDocument test results using ConfluenceWork with other members of the IT Performance Testing team to organize team goals and prioritiesAssist with other duties as requestedDesired Skills & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, a related field, or equivalent experienceAbove average communication skills (written and verbal)Capable of producing adequate quality and quantity of workAbility to utilize a PC and working within a performance testing suiteCompetency to learn new software toolsOrganize, analyze and interpret dataAbility to handle multiple assignments while meeting established schedules and deadlines in an organized mannerAbility to manage a project from start to finish and be a self-starter on a new projectExperience with any of the following is beneficial:Analyzing performance metricsPerformance testing toolsServer monitoring toolsSQL and generating database queriesFoundational understanding of programming (ex. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
