Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity as a Special Education Life Skills Teacher supporting K-12 students in a dedicated, close-knit classroom environment. This full-time position begins as soon as possible and extends through the 2026-2027 school year. You'll provide crucial guidance and instruction to a small caseload of just three students in a Life Skills setting, allowing for individualized teaching and consistent, meaningful progress.
Preferred candidates bring both passion and expertise in special education. Prior experience in Life Skills or special education classrooms is highly valued, and you'll collaborate closely with school staff and related service professionals to develop and monitor IEPs, track student growth, and support achievement of functional, academic, and independent living goals.
Qualifications:
- Valid Texas Special Education Teaching Certification (required)
- Experience in Life Skills and/or special education classrooms preferred
- Ability to support students across K-12 grade levels
- Strong skills in IEP development, collaboration, and progress monitoring
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized and adaptive instruction in a Life Skills classroom
- Implement and monitor IEP goals to ensure student growth
- Maintain precise records and document progress
- Work collaboratively with school staff, families, and service providers
- Support students in developing functional, academic, and independent living skills
