A Porter’s basic function usually involves maintaining cleanliness, appearance and safety standards of facilities. A porter performs basic maintenance duties and general tasks for the company, ensuring that equipment and facilities are safe, clean and organized, reporting any safety concerns or violations to superiors. 

SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday 8am-4pm 
Compensation: $15 per hour

 
Other responsibilities include: 

 
-       Making sure work surfaces, floors and walls are always clean and sanitized. (Underneath all shelving as well, using industrial cleaning equipment to clean floors) 
-       Cleaning both Social Pie AND Maple Landings kitchen, as well as dining areas. 
-       Clean drains, including bar drains 
-       Washing bar walls down 
-       Monitor, clean and restock washrooms (including cleaning bathroom walls) 
-       Bussing/running food during high volume hours 
-       Clean parking lot, including by dumpsters (pick up any trash and cigarette butts) 
-       Maintain both patios cleanliness 
-       Scrub soda area once a week 
-       Cleaning floor mats 
-       Keep all kitchen work surfaces (counters, sinks, walls) clean and sanitized 
-       Keep the food and supply storage areas organized 
-       Assist the customer service crew to set up any upcoming events and update any signs 
-       Assist other employees by running their errands such as moving stock and delivering items when necessary 
-       Respond to spills or other cleaning issues 
-       Maintain internal and external appearance and cleanliness of the store 
-       Clean windows/garage doors
-       Any other duties deemed necessary. 

 
Requirements: 

 
-       The ability to stand for long hours 
-       Willingness to adhere to health and safety rules 
-       Good organizational skills 
-       The ability to work unsupervised in a busy environment 
-       Patience and cool-headedness 
-       A food handler's license 
-       Effective communication skills. 
-       The ability to work as part of a team. 
-       Porters are required to be physically able to stand for long hours at a time and move, carry and lift up to 70 lbs in weight. 
-       Authorized to work in the United States.
