Key Responsibilities

The Mental Health Specialist will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including:

  • Providing clinical services to clients by developing tailored, recovery-oriented treatment plans that align with individual client needs.
  • Continuously monitoring and assessing client treatment requirements, adjusting treatment strategies as needed.
  • Assisting in the formulation, tracking, and execution of individual service plans, ensuring that treatment goals are met effectively.
  • Empowering clients by helping them cultivate essential coping, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
  • Educating clients about available community resources and advocating for their needs to connect them with appropriate services.
  • Utilizing telehealth platforms to facilitate sessions, ensuring effective communication and support for clients in a virtual setting.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our client base consists of adults aged 18 and older, many of whom may be experiencing significant barriers to maintaining stability and independence due to mental illness. As a Counselor, you will work with individuals across a spectrum of mental health conditions, helping them navigate challenges related to diagnoses such as depression, anxiety, trauma, and personality disorders. Your role will have a direct impact on improving clients' quality of life and reintegrating them into their communities.

Qualifications

To thrive in this position, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • A Master's degree or higher in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology.
  • Current state license issued by the appropriate state board, such as:
    • Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist (LCMFT)
    • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
    • Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker (LSCSW)
    • Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC)
    • Licensed Psychologist (PsyD)
  • Strong capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • No recent disciplinary actions against your professional license.
  • A strong foundation of experience in delivering direct clinical services.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a genuine, empathetic demeanor.
  • Competency in using technology, with a reliable internet connection for remote interaction.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, the following experiences are preferred:

  • Prior involvement in community health initiatives or nonprofit organizations.
  • Experience in conducting skill-building activities to enhance clients' daily living.
  • Knowledge of family systems and developmental issues related to mental health.
  • Familiarity with telehealth platforms and electronic health record systems.
