Satellite Server

Responsibilities Perform cold prep and pantry duties; prepare salads, cold sandwiches, vegetables, meats, cheese relishes, fruit and cookie trays. Prepare and serve menu items in satellite services area and short‑order lines, following standardized recipes. Charbroil meats to specified doneness and maintain salad bars for cafeteria, satellite, and evening service. Set up and garnish dishes, use portion control, and maintain a neat, orderly serving line. Operate foodservice equipment safely, clean equipment, and follow department policies for sanitation and safety. Store and handle food in a safe and sanitary manner, maintaining proper temperatures with a thermometer. Operate the cash register: conduct daily counts, process transactions accurately, handle charge slips, report discrepancies, and maintain register security. Provide prompt and courteous customer service, greeting each customer and completing transactions within one minute of purchase. Prepare supply requisitions and point‑of‑sale signage, set up disposable goods and condiments before opening, and replenish as needed throughout the shift. Clean surfaces, equipment, and the work area on a weekly basis; report spills or hazards promptly. Maintain regular attendance and comply with all department policies and procedures. Schedule 10:45 a.m. – 7:15 p.m., Monday – Friday with rotating weekends. Minimum Education and Training High school diploma or GED required. One (1) year of food preparation, cooking, and/or cashier experience preferred. Licensure, Registration and Certification ServSafe Food Handler Certification required within 30 days of hire and must be maintained during employment. Physical Demands and Working Conditions Employee must regularly stand, walk, use hands and arms, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Work may involve exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme heat, and moderate noise levels.
