Field Diesel Mechanic

Field Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech IV – Field Service) As a Field Diesel Mechanic, you’ll perform maintenance and repairs of complex equipment with limited or no supervision in a highly skilled, safe, and professional manner. Responsibilities Maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools with independent judgment. Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer owned equipment; maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner. Assist in training lower-level technicians as needed. Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis. Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts. Other duties assigned as needed. Requirements High School diploma or equivalent. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. 5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools. Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools. Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams. Must own tools applicable to position. Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills. Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs. Field Service Tech IV – Utility Truck Road Service As a Road Service Utility Truck Mechanic, you will ensure our fleet of utility and service vehicles is maintained to the highest standards. Responsibilities Perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on a wide variety of diesel and gasoline-powered vehicles and heavy equipment. Troubleshoot and repair complex issues within hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and braking systems. Conduct routine preventive maintenance, including oil changes, tire service, and lubrication. Utilize diagnostic software and technical manuals to identify malfunctions. Perform welding and fabrication for equipment repair and modification. Maintain accurate and timely service records, repair logs, and documentation. Ensure all work complies with federal, state, and company safety standards and procedures. Perform annual DOT and Dielectric testing on insulated equipment. Other duties as assigned. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. 5+ years of experience as a heavy-duty diesel or truck mechanic, with hands‑on experience on buckets and hydraulic systems. Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with relevant endorsements or ability to obtain. Experience with a range of utility equipment is a plus. Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills. Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently or as a team. Commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Will require some overnight travel to projects further away. Company provides service vehicle, phone, laptop and tools.
