Respiratory Therapist Position

Jackson HealthPros is hiring an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist for a permanent position with a local hospital in Alamosa, CO. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders.

Minimum Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program (Associate or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science).
• Credentialed with the NBRC as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT).
• Active Colorado respiratory therapist license in good standing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required within 6 months of hire.
• Ability to perform ventilator management, suctioning, artificial airway care, resuscitation, bedside spirometry, arterial blood gas (ABG) specimen collection and interpretation, and chest x-ray interpretation.
• Experience administering bronchial hygiene and therapeutic procedures including IPPB, incentive spirometry, EZ-PAP, HHN, CPT, bland aerosol administration, humidification therapy, oxygen therapy, and related patient education.
• Experience performing EKGs, EEGs, PFTs, mobile cardiac telemetry setup, Holter and event monitor hookups.
• Demonstrated ability to document clinical care accurately in electronic medical records and maintain organized medical records.
• Candidate must be willing to relocate to a rural area.
• One year of experience as an RRT preferred.

What You'll Do

• Provide comprehensive respiratory care across adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients as appropriate.
• Manage ventilator-dependent patients and perform advanced respiratory procedures under appropriate supervision.
• Collect and interpret ABGs and contribute to clinical decision-making based on results.
• Provide patient education for asthma, smoking cessation, and respiratory disease management.
• Perform diagnostic testing including EKGs, PFTs, and monitor hookups.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in EMR and adhere to departmental policies and procedures.
