Job Captain – ArchitecturePrevail Recruiting is partnering with a premier, well-established architecture firm in the Los Angeles area to identify an experienced Job Captain to join its growing team.This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong architectural professional who enjoys taking ownership of construction documentation, coordinating with consultants, and working closely with Project Managers and licensed Architects throughout the project lifecycle.The firm offers a stable project pipeline, collaborative environment, direct access to leadership, and excellent opportunities for continued professional growth.As a Job Captain, you will play an integral role in the development and coordination of architectural drawings and construction documents from design development through construction.The ideal candidate is highly proficient in Revit, understands construction document production, and can effectively coordinate architectural drawings with structural, MEP, civil, and specialty consultants.We're looking for someone who can work independently when needed while thriving within a collaborative project team.Key responsibilities include:Develop and coordinate architectural construction documents using Revit and AutoCADProduce plans, elevations, sections, details, and permit/construction drawing packagesAssist Project Managers and Architects throughout multiple phases of project developmentCoordinate architectural drawings with structural, MEP, civil, and specialty consultantsMaintain accurate and organized Revit models and drawing setsReview documents for technical accuracy, constructability, and coordinationEnsure drawings comply with applicable California Building Codes and ADA/accessibility requirementsParticipate in internal quality-control and document-coordination reviewsAssist with construction administration, including RFIs, submittals, and field coordinationCommunicate effectively with internal project teams, consultants, and other project stakeholdersHelp maintain project schedules and documentation standardsQualifications include:Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field preferred3–5+ years of experience working within an architectural firmStrong proficiency with RevitAutoCAD proficiency strongly preferredDemonstrated experience producing and coordinating complete construction-document setsExperience coordinating engineering and specialty consultantsWorking knowledge of building codes, ADA/accessibility requirements, and construction methodsStrong organizational and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work both independently and collaborativelyAdditional skills that stand out include:Experience with SketchUpRhinoBluebeamAdobe Creative SuitePhotoshopIllustratorConstruction administrationGround-up and complex architectural projectsWhy consider this opportunity?This is an opportunity to join a respected Southern California architecture firm with a strong project pipeline and long-term stability.You'll work alongside experienced Architects and Project Managers, gain exposure to projects from design through construction, and have the opportunity to continue developing toward Project Manager, Project Architect, and/or licensed Architect responsibilities.The firm offers a collaborative environment where technical expertise is valued and strong performers have opportunities to take on increasing responsibility.Compensation and benefits include:Base Salary: $90,000–$130,000, commensurate with experiencePerformance-based bonus opportunitiesComprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) retirement planCommuter benefitsGenerous PTO, sick time, and paid holidaysProfessional development and continuing education supportSupport for architectural licensure and career advancementLong-term growth opportunities into Project Manager and Project Architect responsibilitiesTotal compensation will be tailored to experience, technical capabilities, and overall fit for the position.Interested?
