Step into a rewarding contract role supporting middle school students as a self-contained emotional disabilities teacher. This opportunity begins September 14th and extends through December 18th, offering a meaningful way to make a difference in the lives of young learners during a pivotal stretch of the school year.
Qualified candidates will bring their expertise to a dedicated special education team, providing targeted academic and behavioral support in a well-resourced environment.
Qualifications:
- Valid Indiana Special Education Teacher Certification is required
- Previous experience in a self-contained classroom preferred
- Strong background working with middle school students, especially those with emotional disabilities
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to maintain structure and foster a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, implement, and adapt individualized instruction for students with emotional disabilities
- Develop and carry out IEP goals, collaborating with support staff and related service providers
- Utilize evidence-based strategies to support students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development
- Track progress, maintain records, and communicate regularly with families and staff
- Model patience, empathy, and resilience in fostering student growth and well-being
- Participate in professional meetings and school-based teams as needed
