Surgical Assistant Position

Provides essential surgical assistance by performing routine and delegated duties in accordance with departmental and hospital standards to ensure high-quality patient care. The role involves supporting surgical teams in diverse procedures, maintaining sterile techniques, and ensuring smooth operative workflows.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in preparing operating rooms and surgical instruments prior to procedures.
• Maintain sterile environments, adhering to infection control policies.
• Support surgeons during procedures with necessary instruments and supplies.
• Monitor patient status and document relevant information during surgery.
• Follow departmental protocols for safety and quality assurance.
• Collaborate with surgical team members to ensure efficient workflow and patient safety.

Qualifications:

• Hold a current CST licensure (NBSTSA).
• Possess BLS certification from AHA.
• Minimum of 5 years of surgical support experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency with vascular, transplant, ophthalmology, spine, robotic, or cardiac surgeries (preferred).
• Maintain HS Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Ability to work 4 nights per week, 10 hours each, including weekends and on-call shifts.
