Details Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting 3x12 night shift schedule (18:50-07:20) 1:2 patient ratio Call required: 2 shifts per 6-week schedule Every other weekend required Floating expected to Mother/Baby or other qualified units when needed Requirements Active RN license (MD or Compact) required Required certifications: C-EFM (NCC), BLS, NRP, STABLE ACLS preferred 3 years of L&D experience preferred, 2 years with strong experience considered 2 years of recent experience within the last 7 years required Cerner charting system experience preferred Charge experience preferred Scrub experience preferred Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment Two supervisory references required, including one from the most recent assignment Additional Information Provide comprehensive L&D nursing care including labor management, delivery assistance, and postpartum care Perform fetal monitoring and recognize/treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns Administer medications such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives as needed Support high-risk antepartum and postpartum patients including cesarean and multiple births Assist with neonatal care in the delivery room including APGAR scoring and thermoregulation Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower pay rate No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment; maximum 7 days RTO per 13-week contract Previous MedStar employees must have been separated for at least one year before returning as a traveler American Traveler Job ID P-749737.
