Job Summary and Qualifications Sonographer / Ultrasound Technologist At HCA West Florida, we are committed to creating a world‑class experience for each patient. Your tasks and responsibilities as an Ultrasound Technologist (or Sonographer) include but are not limited to: Prepare and position patients and equipment in a safe, competent manner Accurately perform sonogram examinations in a timely manner Be responsible for recording and processing ultrasound images Maintain statistical results for quality improvement Maintain proactive and effective communication with radiologists regarding any unusual clinical findings, history, and/or test results Qualifications A two‑year Allied Health degree or successful completion of a 12‑month CAAHEP approved program Valid ARDMS certification; RVT (Registered Vascular Tech) or ARDMS AB (abdomen specialty) or ARDMS OB/GYN within 1 year Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification 1‑3 years previous experience as an Ultrasound Technologist Other skills needed: organizational, verbal, interpersonal, customer relations, clerical, basic computer, mathematical, analytical, grammar/spelling, reading, comprehension of written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions HCA Florida Blake Hospital is a 380+ bed hospital located in Bradenton, FL.
