Job Title: Mechanical Engineer Job Description

Support the design and development of mechanical components, assemblies, and systems. Assist with Design Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) activities by identifying potential design risks and contributing to mitigation plans. Participate in prototype development, testing, and validation efforts to verify product performance and functionality.

• Assist with structural and thermal analyses and help evaluate test results.
• Support the planning and execution of Design of Experiments (DOE) initiatives to improve product performance and reliability.
• Analyze testing data and recommend design improvements based on findings.
• Partner with manufacturing teams to incorporate Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Automation (DFA) principles.
• Participate in root cause investigations and troubleshooting activities using APQP methodologies.
• Create and maintain 3D models, engineering drawings, and related documentation using CAD software.
• Develop and maintain engineering documentation, including specifications, drawings, and bills of materials.
• Support the creation of technical documentation, product manuals, and engineering reports.
• Contribute to quality, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable safety standards, quality requirements, and industry best practices.
• Stay current on engineering methods, technologies, and industry trends.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and technical training.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and research & development teams throughout the product lifecycle.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Strong understanding of fundamental mechanical engineering principles.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Eagerness to learn, grow, and take on new engineering challenges.

• Internship, co-op, or early-career engineering experience.
• Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
• Exposure to DFMEA, APQP, DOE, DFM, or DFA methodologies.
• Familiarity with ERP or CRM systems, including SAP.

The role involves working in a dynamic engineering environment where collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential. The position requires proficiency in CAD software for creating and maintaining engineering designs. The work environment encourages continuous professional development and staying updated on the latest engineering methodologies and industry trends.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Savage, MN.

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $47.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Savage,MN.
