Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1+ year of ICU experience required License: Michigan nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - EKG experience required - Must be willing to float to similar units Description: An Intensive Care Unit nurse provides 24/7 care for critically ill, unstable patients. Duties include managing life-support equipment and titrating complex intravenous drips. Nurses interpret vital signs and perform comprehensive head-to-toe assessments. They are responsible for administering medications and coordinating advanced care with the multidisciplinary medical team. The attendance policy is strict to maintain quality patient care. Any nurse absent from a scheduled shift or more than 20 minutes late for their shift three times will be terminated. Supporting evidence is required for absences due to communicable disease or hospitalization. A skills checklist completed within one year of application for nursing specialties is required. Physical copies of certifications are required only for those listed in the job description. Full-time employees of the facility are not eligible for contract hire within six months of employment. The traveler must make up any call-ins within the contract time frame. Holiday rate policies apply as per established guidelines.
