Actalent is seeking a GMP Technician who supports production and quality control teams in manufacturing products used in cGMP operations. This entry-level role focuses on following established procedures, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and completing accurate documentation in a regulated setting. The position begins as a contract role to support a new product launch, with the potential to transition to a direct hire based on business needs and workload.

1st shift: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m

Responsibilities

• Follow all quality and production procedures to ensure that products meet cGMP standards and internal quality requirements.
• Adhere to detailed work instructions to consistently and accurately produce products for manufacturing.
• Perform routine quality checks on equipment and instruments used in production to confirm proper function and calibration.
• Comply with all required safety standards, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain production equipment in safe working order.
• Clean and maintain laboratory and production equipment, as well as the working area, to promote safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
• Complete batch documentation according to local procedures, GDP requirements, and quality guidelines.
• Operate basic software applications, including Microsoft Office and Quality Management Systems, to support production and documentation activities.
• Work both independently and collaboratively with the team to achieve individual, team, and organizational goals.
• Follow established safety guidelines and protocols when working with materials that may have biohazard potential.
• Participate in documentation training and apply GLP and GMP principles to daily tasks.
• Use hand tools frequently as part of assembly, packaging, inspection, and equipment maintenance activities.
• Support lab cleanup and adherence to ISO and GMP requirements as part of routine operations.
• Maintain consistent attendance and reliability to support steady production workflows.

Essential Skills

• Ability to follow written work instructions, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and standard operating procedures.
• Comfort working in and gowning up for a GMP cleanroom laboratory environment.
• Basic computer skills, including data entry and use of Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to operate and navigate Quality Management Systems as trained.
• Capability to perform basic math required for production and documentation activities.
• Ability to perform frequent work with hand tools in a production or laboratory setting.
• Strong attention to detail for batch record completion, inspection, and quality checks.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a small team in a regulated environment.
• Commitment to maintaining good attendance and reliability.
• Understanding and application of GMP, GDP, and GLP concepts as part of daily tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or associate degree; a bachelor’s degree is not required for this entry-level role.
• Prior GMP or regulated industry experience is a plus but not required.
• Experience with cleanroom operations, including gowning, cleaning, and contamination control, is beneficial.
• Familiarity with packaging, assembly, labeling, inspection, and batch record processes is an advantage.
• Interest in gaining hands-on GMP experience in a high-demand field and developing skills in ISO and GMP documentation.
• Willingness to participate in comprehensive training with verification by experienced team members.

Work Environment

The role is based in a GMP cleanroom laboratory and production environment, where the technician gowns up and follows strict cleanliness and contamination control procedures. Standard hours are approximately 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., working five 8-hour days per week, with some flexibility for appointments as needed. The position includes a 30- to 60-minute unpaid lunch break. Full training is provided over several weeks, including documentation training, lab cleanup processes, and ISO and GMP requirements, with a second set of eyes verifying work during the learning period. The technician works alongside one other GMP Technician in a small, collaborative team setting, using basic computer systems, Quality Management Systems, and hand tools as part of daily tasks in a regulated, safety-focused environment.

This is a Contract position based out of Grove City, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
