We are seeking a skilled Facilities Technician to perform a range of maintenance tasks required for building upkeep. The role involves handling maintenance work that requires skill, training, and experience, including repairs, replacements, and preparation of vacant units for new occupancy.

Responsibilities

• Replace windows, window glass, screens, and spouting.

• Repair plumbing issues such as clogged drains, pipes, faucets, and toilets.

• Repair covers for switches and outlets.

• Replace and repair apartment appliances, including ranges and refrigerators.

• Prepare vacant units for new occupancy by patching and painting walls, replacing cabinets and countertops, and stripping and waxing floors.

• Perform necessary plumbing and electrical upgrades as needed.

Essential Skills

• Facilities maintenance, plumbing, electrical, HVAC.

• Mid-level knowledge of common methods, practices, and materials used in building maintenance and repair.

• Understanding of electrical and plumbing systems and repair.

• Ability to troubleshoot effectively.

• Possession of a valid Pennsylvania drivers license and ability to be insured under the company's plan.

• Ability to work independently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of experience in building maintenance, construction, plumbing, electrical repair, HVAC, carpentry, or mechanical work.

• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, including MS Word and Excel.

• Demonstrated success in time management and dependability.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Excellent problem-solving skills.

Work Environment

The work environment involves both indoor and outdoor tasks, with physical exertion typical of the construction and maintenance industries. You will experience various weather conditions and temperature extremes. The role requires heavy lifting up to 50 pounds, prolonged standing, walking, and manipulation of hand tools. The standard shift is from 8 am to 5 pm. Professional appearance and a positive image are essential. The position may include on-call rotation after the probationary period and may involve more advanced duties under emergency conditions or for training purposes.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lykens, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
