Nurse Scientist
CARIN Alliance
The Nurse Scientist role focuses on advancing nursing research and evidence-based practice (EBP) within a healthcare system. They serve as leaders, mentors, and champions to ensure clinical nursing practices are guided by the strongest evidence and contribute to new knowledge generation. Key responsibilities include facilitating EBP, Quality Improvement (QI), and research projects, providing consultation, and guiding dissemination of findings through presentations. They collaborate with the Nursing Innovation Council to review and prepare projects for IRB approval and participate in related forums. The role involves mentoring nurses in critical inquiry, reflective reasoning, and professional responsibilities, modeling professional behavior, and ensuring team accountability. Qualifications include a Doctorate in Nursing, active RN licensure, and BLS certification. Minimum experience requirements are two years in nursing research and clinical nursing, with preferred teaching experience. Essential skills encompass strong communication, computer proficiency (Excel, Epic, SPSS, Qualtrics), and research methodology expertise.
