Your Day as a Psychiatric Technician As a Psychiatric Technician at our BJ Roberts Behavioral Health Center, you will play a key role in providing direct care and supervision for individuals living with serious mental health challenges and co-occurring substance use disorders. Your duties will include monitoring and documenting client progress in an intensive, short-term residential setting, while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to deliver effective treatment and case coordination. You will lead both individual and group development training focused on independent living skills and leisure activities, supporting clients\' personal growth and overall wellness. In addition, you will assist with essential household services that are crucial for client care and the maintenance of the facility. Your role is essential in ensuring the health, safety, and civil rights of all clients and their families, and your contributions will directly impact their emotional well-being and recovery. Responsibilities Provide direct care and supervision for individuals with serious mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders in an intensive, short-term residential setting. Monitor and document client progress; collaborate with an interdisciplinary team for treatment planning and case coordination. Lead individual and group development training focused on independent living skills and leisure activities. Assist with essential household services and facility maintenance as part of client care. Promote health, safety, and civil rights for all clients and their families. Qualifications One (1) year direct care experience working with adults with serious mental illness. Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) preferred. Demonstrated experience with adults living with behavioral health issues and substance use or co-occurring disorders. Solid understanding of serious mental health disorders and the principles of care for these individuals. Effective communication and interpersonal skills for building rapport with clients and families.
