Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics via standardized assessments and observational strategies.
• Design tailored treatment plans catering to immediate objectives and longer-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
• Engage in direct speech therapy sessions honing in on communication, language skills, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing techniques.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and family members to create cohesive and comprehensive care strategies.
• Deliver educational resources to patients and families, supporting progress beyond the confines of clinical sessions.
• Participate in intermittent inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions, ensuring consistent care throughout the entire treatment process.
• Ensure precise and timely documentation in alignment with state, federal, and organizational standards.
• Commit to continuous improvement by staying updated on advancements within the field through ongoing education and peer collaboration.

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
• Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet attained.

Certifications

• State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of starting employment.
