Nocturnist Physician

We are in search of a Board Certified/Board Eligible Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician to become a part of our growing and high-achieving hospital medicine team. As a prominent physician-led entity in the region, we provide round-the-clock care to over 500 critically ill patients across four hospitals. We are looking for a nocturnist who is dedicated to compassionate, patient-focused care . A preferred start date is in 2025, but we are open to discussing other timelines.

This position offers an opportunity to work in a nurturing and collaborative atmosphere, supported by a strong team of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), modern facilities, and a culture that prioritizes clinical excellence alongside work-life balance.

The nocturnist will operate from 7 pm to 7 am , closely collaborating with our skilled nocturnist APP team to oversee admissions and deliver high-quality inpatient care across medical-surgical, transitional care units, and medical ICU settings.

• Oversee the admission process for patients needing hospitalization, ensuring prompt and thorough evaluations and safe transitions of care.

• Conduct comprehensive assessments, including gathering medical histories, performing physical examinations, and interpreting diagnostic tests.

• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans, including pharmacological therapies and coordinating specialty consultations.

• Work in partnership with a diverse team of specialists, nurses, and APPs to provide integrated, multidisciplinary care.

• Effectively communicate with patients and their families, offering updates, education, and support throughout their hospitalization.

• Utilize sound clinical judgment to navigate complex medical decisions in an acute care environment.

• Perform bedside procedures as necessary; procedural skills are encouraged and supported.

• MD or DO with completion of an accredited residency in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in your specialty area.

• Eligibility for medical licensure in Kentucky.
