Summary The Program Manager Community Health Worker serves as a trusted liaison between the Tucson Unified School District, the community, health, and social service systems. This position will supervise, manage, and implement the strategic program plans for the district Community Health Worker mode, with a specific emphasis on Substance Abuse and Prevention Programs. The Program Manager is responsible for collaborating with internal and external partners to increase community awareness, self-sufficiency, and access to services and other resources among diverse populations. (A “Program” refers to carrying out a specific service or specific activity within a department or the district.) Minimum Requirements Master’s Degree AND Two (2) years of experience administering or coordinating programs. OR Bachelor's Degree AND Six (6) years of experience administering or coordinating programs. OR Ten (10) years of progressive experience administering or coordinating programs. Three (3) years supervisory experience. Proven expertise of federal and state legislative requirements related to specific program, department or grant. Some positions within this classification may require some type of certification. Requirements Prior To Start Date FBI fingerprint background check. Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization. Preferred Qualifications Doctorate degree. Core Competency Trained and AZCHW Voluntary Certification. One year experience working in school settings. Two years experience with developing and presenting with community organizations. Bilingual English and Spanish. Comments Effective: 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR Location: Student Relations - 220 W 6th Classification: Non-Bargaining FTE: 1.0 – 8 hours per day Work Calendar: 12 month Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits. Salary will be prorated if the start date is after the first day of the work calendar for the position. Internal candidates will transfer at a rate commensurate with their bargaining unit language.
